The Indigenous Peoples' Day Sunrise Gathering on October 12th and November 26th are organized by the International Indian Treaty Council commemorating the 1969-71 occupation of Alcatraz by the Indians of All Tribes. It is one-day events and is not the standard Alcatraz Island tour; all areas except for where the ceremony takes place will be closed and inaccessible to the public.

Please note there is absolutely no sale of merchandise of any kind allowed on Alcatraz Island, at Pier 33 Alcatraz Landing, or on the sidewalk outside of Alcatraz Landing.

Walk-up tickets will be available for purchase the morning of the event. However, tickets are limited and we can not guarantee availability the day of the event.
