Evening talks by Island expert historians are offered on a variety of topics and change every night.

- Pier 33 Alcatraz Landing is the launch site to Alcatraz Island.
- Alcatraz Landing includes the Ticketbooth and waiting and boarding areas, all of which are accessible. Accessible bathrooms are found at Pier 33 Alcatraz Landing and on all Alcatraz City Cruises vessels.
- Please note: there are no wheelchairs available for loan either at Pier 33 Alcatraz Landing or on Alcatraz Island.

Tour the Cellhouse at your own pace with the award winning audio presentation “Doing Time: The Alcatraz Cellhouse Tour”. Stop to picture yourself in a dark solitary confinement cell, hear the stories of life inside from real prisoners and feel the intensity of a prison breakout as told by correctional officers who lived and worked on the Island.

- It is frequently chilly and windy on Alcatraz at night. Be sure to wear long pants, a warm jacket or windbreaker, and comfortable shoes. Follow this link for more information.
- Your special tour begins the moment you head to Alcatraz. You'll enjoy a live narration while the ferry takes a special "around the island" route to Alcatraz -- both perks not offered during the daytime tour. Once docked, you'll join a Ranger or educator for the world-famous Cellhouse Audio Tour.
- After the Audio Tour, you'll have more chances to learn and explore with optional activities such as cell door demonstrations, short talks, special exhibits, and full-length programs with multiple stops that bring you back down to the Dock for departure.
- Don't forget to take time to enjoy the breathtaking views of the entire Bay Area lit up at night!

Please note:
- The guided portion of your tour is available only in English. Once you reach the Cellhouse portion of the tour, you may choose the audio tour in one of the 11 offered languages.
- It is cold and windy on Alcatraz at night. Please wear warm clothing: long pants and warm jackets/windbreakers are strongly recommended.
- The roads and walkways on Alcatraz are steep. The distance from the dock to the Cellhouse is approximately 1/4 mile (.4km) and the elevation change is 130 feet (40 meters), the equivalent of walking up a 13-story building.
- The roads and walkways are wide with several places to stop along the way to rest and take in the breathtaking views. Comfortable athletic or walking shoes are strongly recommended.
